Latest AR read -- "Sold" by Patricia McCormick. Good story... intense ideas... the concept that a teenage girl can still be SOLD by her family somewhere in this world is horrifying.

I have two students reading My Sister's Keeper. The movie version has increased the demand for the novel!!! :)

School is under way and my reading time has been severely shortened!!!! :(

I have read Jennifer Weiner's Good in Bed, it's sequel - Certain Girls, Little Earthquakes, and The Guy Not Taken, a short story collection Jennifer has written over several years.

I have Goodnight Nobody and In Her Shoes ready to go ... I'm anxious to read them!!!

I love Weiner's writing voice -- easy to read -- and her characters all seem like people I know.

School reading has included the first selections from our chapter of early American writings (Anne Bradstreet, Patrick Henry, George Washington) and the freshmen tackled The Cask of Amontillado and The Most Dangerous Game. They are all great selections to read and re-read each year. :)

My students are fantastic and even though a few are "repeaters" for me ( I taught them in a previous English class) , they have been working hard and showing their increased skills. :)

I'm reading the Jennifer Weiner books... not recommended for young eyes :)

I have students anxious to read "My Sister's Keeper" after watching the movie! Jodi Piccoult's books are ALL fantastic reads!

Slob didn't set my heart afire :) It would be a good AR read but high school readers will find the plot too predictable.

My other reading of the day was my Family Circle magazine while waiting for 45 mins. with Tyler in the exam room at the doctor's office. :)

"Waiting for Normal" was good... it will be a good recommendation for middle school and high school readers.

Now reading "Slob" by Ellen Potter.
